Our Shipping & Delivery Policy
Canal's prices do not include shipping or sales tax (where applicable). Street addresses and phone numbers are required for all shipments. No PO Box addresses accepted! Not responsible for old/wrong delivery addresses!
Title to, and ownership of, all wine passes from Canals Bottlestop to the purchaser in the State of New Jersey and the purchaser takes all responsibility for the shipping it from New Jersey to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the wine, Canals Bottlestop is providing a service to, and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service from Canal's Bottlestop, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of wine and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.
We do not ship internationally.
We do not ship Spirits. Listed Spirits are for IN-STORE PICK UP ONLY!!!
Our regular shipping days for New Jersey, Washington D.C. and Florida* are Mon-Thu. These orders received online will ship Ground within the next 1-3 business days (except orders with problems). All other States that we ship to, leave here every Wednesday morning.
*We cannot ship to Washington, Liberty and Lafayette Counties in Florida. They are considered dry counties.
Free Shipping Offers only apply to Ground shipments.
You can start tracking your package on line the next morning following the shipping day.
If you are concerned about weather conditions in your area we will gladly hold your order until proper temperature allows shipping. Shipping may be delayed due to extreme temperatures in our shipping and delivery areas. Unless we are instructed in order notes to ship immediately, we reserve the right to hold orders in temperature control until conditions are suitable for shipment and delivery. If you would like to place an order for express shipment, please call or email us for quotes.
Customer comments on order such as: "please leave package on back porch","leave next door" or "call if not available" will not be taken in consideration, since we cannot give our carrier such instructions for delivery! If you do have such a request please contact us to make arrangements suitable for you.
You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase alcohol from Canalswine.com. All packages sent by Canals Bottlestop require a signature upon delivery. We will not be able to refund any shipping charges if your package is returned because there was no one home to sign! For faster and more convenient delivery please provide a commercial address if available.
New Information for Fedex deliveries:
Please have your valid government-issued photo ID ready at the time of delivery. Effective 06/28/22 FedEx will introduce scanning technology that electronically captures the recipient’s first initial, last name, and automatically verifies that age requirements are met for shipments requiring an adult signature at delivery. The software does not record or store any other personal data (e.g., driver's license number, birthdate, home address, etc.).
Please specify NO VINTAGE SUBSTITUTION if you are not flexible about the vintage that you receive. We do our best to contact clients when we have a vintage different than advertised and we will not automatically substitute vintage in most cases, however in some cases vintage will be substituted if the current vintage is superior to the previous vintage or the wine is not now or ever meant for extended aging.
Please note that due to a price listing error, some items may not properly be identified as sale items. This usually happens when an item has one fixed, non-discountable sale price and no regular price. In this case there will be no further case discount. Please email/call us if you have any questions regarding such items.
All discounts will be applied upon processing your order and your total will be adjusted online when your order is fulfilled. Canal's guarantees customer satisfaction! If there is any problem with your order please contact us immediately. We offer a full refund within 30 days of the delivery date for any bad bottles of wine; please hold them as they are (do not empty the bottles) until we can schedule a pick up at no cost to you. We are not responsible for any photos of wine labels posted on the website.
Attention: there is a 10% restocking fee for any other returns!
All States that we ship to, with the exception of New Jersey, Washington D.C. And Florida, ship out every Wednesday. We now must send all information to shipping company by 3:00pm on Tuesday. Please keep this in mind when ordering as orders placed after 1:00pm on Tuesday, will not ship until Wednesday of the next week.
